Empowering Dance Through Mindful Movement

Meet the Founder: Tina Salmon

With over three decades of immersion in the world of movement, Tina Salmon brings a rare depth of artistry and technical mastery to the Rochester dance community. A 1993 graduate of the Rochester School of the Arts, Tina’s foundational years were rooted in the rigorous Martha Graham technique, instilling a lifelong appreciation for the modern base of dance.

Her path led to the University of Brockport, where training under Tony Award winner Garth Fagan polished her talent for fusing intricate rhythms with disciplined technique. Tina’s professional career includes a year performing with the Borinquen Latino Dance Company alongside over thirty years of teaching at respected venues like RAPA Theatre, Jubilate Dance Studio, Dance Dimensions by Susan, and Krystal’s Dance Centre. She has also led intensive workshops for the Terry Fike (PACE) studio. Committed to community outreach, she has developed and implemented specialized Worship and African dance programs for various regional churches and Colleges such as, Roberts Wesleyan University, and the University of Rochester to inspire new generations.

Now, Tina is embarking on her most personal venture yet: Temple Dance Center. By integrating her diverse expertise in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contempoary Modern and Hip Hop with her passion for African and Worship dance, Tina has created a sanctuary where movement is more than just steps—it is a connection between the physical and the spiritual.

Studio Mission Statement

Our Mission

At Temple Dance Center, our mission is to cultivate a sanctuary where the body and mind meet. We are dedicated to providing world-class technical training through the Godfrey Method, prioritizing the physical health, longevity, and strength of every dancer. We believe that a dancer’s body is their "temple," and our goal is to foster a deep, mindful connection between physical expression and mental wellness. From ages three to adult, we empower our students to move with purpose, grace, and a holistic understanding of their own power.
